Overview

Cape Grace Hotel, part of the global hospitality group Accor, is looking for a dedicated Kitchen Steward to join its culinary team. This role is essential in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across kitchen and restaurant areas, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

– Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchens, restaurants, and work areas.
– Clean and organise kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations.
– Operate and maintain dishwashing equipment effectively.
– Monitor cleaning chemicals and water temperatures during shifts.
– Restock supplies in assigned areas.
– Keep garbage and waste areas clean and hygienic.
– Ensure floors and stewarding areas are clean and safe at all times.
– Store cleaned equipment and utensils in the correct locations.
– Follow all company policies, procedures, and health & safety standards.
– Assist with general cleaning and support tasks as required by management.

Requirements & Skills

-Matric (Grade 12).
-Previous experience in a hotel or hospitality environment is advantageous.
-Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
-Good organisational and time management skills.
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
-Willingness to work shifts (morning and evening).
-Strong attention to detail and hygiene standards.
-Good communication skills in English (additional languages are an advantage).
-Positive attitude and willingness to assist others.
