Overview:

The City of Francistown Council invites applications from suitably qualified Botswana citizens for the position of Principal Accountant I. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and directing the Treasury Division to ensure effective financial administration and compliance with relevant statutes.

Salary:

D2 Scale (P337,008 – P371,628 per annum)

Key Duties:

-Coordinate, manage, and direct the Treasury Division

-Provide expert guidance on financial accounting and budgeting

-Oversee internal control implementation and ensure compliance with financial regulations

-Supervise spending departments for efficient financial order

-Prepare and present abstracts of accounts

-Conduct regular reviews of financial risk exposures

-Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications & Experience:

–Degree in Accounting or related field

–At least 10 years of relevant work experience, including service as Principal Accountant II–D3 scale

-Must be registered with the Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants (BICA) and in good standing (Attach proof)

Leave Rate:

30 working days per annum
