Overview:
The Botswana Prison Service invites applications from qualified individuals to fill the position of Warder/Wardress (Nursing). This role focuses on providing essential healthcare services, maintaining health standards, and ensuring the wellbeing of both staff and inmates.
Key Responsibilities:
-Deliver nursing care to inmates and staff in line with organizational health policies.
-Administer prescribed treatments and medications.
-Conduct health assessments and maintain up-to-date health records.
-Provide health education and awareness programs to inmates and staff.
-Respond promptly to medical emergencies.
-Collaborate with medical officers and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
–Education: Bachelorโs Degree or Diploma in General Nursing.
–Professional Registration: Registered with the Botswana Nursing and Midwifery Council and possess a valid practicing license.

- Leave:
- 30 working days per annum for C1 scale and above.
- 25 working days per annum for C3 scale.
Training:
- Successful candidates will undergo an Initial Prison Officersโ Course for Warder/Wardress positions.
Probation Period:
- Two (2) years.

- Comprehensive medical examination in accordance with Botswana Prison Service medical standards.
