Overview

The South African Police Service (SAPS) seeks three diligent Cleaners to maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and order across DPCI Head Office facilities. The role supports a safe, healthy and efficient working environment by delivering routine and deep-cleaning services indoors and outdoors.

Key Responsibilities

-Clean and sanitise offices, passages, meeting rooms, kitchens/canteens and ablution facilities.

-Sweep, mop, dust, polish and disinfect surfaces; restock hygiene consumables.

-Remove refuse and ensure safe, compliant waste handling and disposal.

-Clean windows, glass and high-touch points; spot clean carpets and soft furnishings.

-Safeguard and correctly use cleaning chemicals, tools and machines; store them safely.

-Report maintenance needs, hazards and broken equipment promptly.

-Assist with ad-hoc cleaning and spring-cleaning tasks to meet operational needs.

Minimum Requirements

-Grade 10 (advantageous).

-Basic literacy, numeracy and communication skills; able to read and follow instructions.

-Able to operate elementary cleaning machines/equipment safely.

-Willing to work extended hours, weekends and public holidays when required.

-Reliable team player who can also work independently and meet deadlines.
