Minimum Requirements
Applicants should have:
-Grade 12 (Matric).
-At least 6 months’ cashier or till operating experience.
-Computer literacy (MS Office).
-Good numerical ability.
-Strong command of the English language.
-Basic customer service skills.
-Willingness to work retail hours.
-Reliable transport or reside close to the store.
-South African citizenship.
-Clear criminal and credit record.
Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will:
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) accurately.
- Process customer purchases and various payment methods.
- Handle cash securely according to company procedures.
- Deliver excellent customer service.
- Process refunds, exchanges and loyalty cards.
- Promote current store promotions where applicable.
- Maintain accurate cash drawers and daily cash balancing.
- Assist customers with product enquiries.
- Follow all Dis-Chem security and operational procedures.
- Report suspicious activities and customer concerns to management.
