Overview

The De Beers Group is offering 10 Engineering Learnership opportunities at Venetia Mine.

  • X9 Engineering Learnerships โ€“ Section 18.2 (Unemployed applicants from Blouberg and Musina Municipalities)
  • X1 Engineering Learnership โ€“ Section 18.1 (Venetia employees only)

This programme provides an opportunity to complete a structured QCTO Occupational Qualification in a listed engineering trade, registered with the MQA. Successful candidates will receive formal training at the accredited training centre in Randfontein and on-the-job training at Venetia Mine.

The 18.2 unemployed candidates will be appointed on a fixed-term four-year learnership contract linked to the duration of the programme.

  • Occupational Certificate: Boilermaker (ID: 93626)
  • Occupational Certificate: Instrument Mechanician (ID: 94701)
  • Occupational Certificate: Electrician (ID: 91761)
  • Occupational Certificate: Fitter and Turner (ID: 94020)
  • Occupational Certificate: Diesel Mechanic (ID: 117237)
  • Occupational Certificate: Transportation Electrician (Auto Electrician) (ID: 117042)
  • Occupational Certificate: Rigger (ID: 102856)

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have one of the following:

  • Grade 12 with Mathematics (not Maths Literacy), Physical Science and English with a minimum 40% pass in all subjects

OR

  • N2 with four subjects relevant to the trade

OR

  • NCV Level 3 with at least 40% in Mathematics and all relevant subjects

Trade-specific N2 subjects must align with the chosen discipline, including Engineering Science and applicable Trade Theory and Drawing subjects.


Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to travel to the training centre outside Limpopo (company-sponsored transport)
  • Must obtain a Red Ticket (Medical Fitness Certificate)
  • SAPS criminal record verification
  • Qualification verification
  • Psychometric and technical assessments
  • Strong technical, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Good written and verbal communication in English
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • High performance standards and continuous improvement mindset
