Overview

The Department of Public Works, Roads and Transport is inviting applications for a Cleaner position at the Malekutu Cost Centre.

This role forms part of the Property Management Programme and focuses on maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in government buildings. No prior work experience is required.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 10 certificate
• No experience required
• Knowledge of cleaning using detergents
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety
• Ability to read and write
• Ability to operate cleaning machinery
• Good listening and communication skills
• Good interpersonal relations

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain floors, offices, toilets and kitchen areas
• Sweep, dust, vacuum and disinfect surfaces
• Empty bins and remove waste
• Ensure cleaning materials and equipment are kept in good condition
• Report broken machinery
• Request cleaning supplies when needed
• Maintain hygiene and safety standards at all times
