Purpose of the Position

The Sales Assistant will:

• Promote sales and achieve store targets
• Deliver excellent customer service
• Minimise stock losses and maintain store security
• Operate the cash register accurately
• Support inventory management
• Uphold PEP’s low-cost retail culture

This position requires honesty, reliability and strong integrity, especially when handling cash.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a positive, safe and welcoming store environment
• Operate the cash register accurately and follow company cash handling procedures
• Assist customers with product selection and upselling opportunities
• Inform customers about promotions, discounts and new arrivals
• Ensure customers receive accurate product information
• Maintain store merchandising and visual presentation standards
• Assist with stock ordering, receiving and inventory control
• Handle customer queries and resolve issues professionally
• Achieve individual and team sales targets
• Stay updated on product features and pricing changes

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Retail or customer-facing experience (Cashier, Store Assistant, Sales Assistant, Retail Associate, Sales Consultant, etc.)
• Clear criminal record
• Reside within 15km of Killarney
• Must be honest and trustworthy in handling cash

Preferred Requirements

• South African citizen
• Computer literate
• Passion for retail and customer service
• Candidates between 20 and 35 years old
