Sasol is recruiting 13 Artisan Electro Mechanics to join Mining Operations (MRS) in Secunda. The successful candidates will support production by providing effective electro-mechanical maintenance and improving equipment reliability to ensure plant and mine sustainability.

Purpose of the Job

To provide electro-mechanical maintenance support to plant and mining equipment, ensuring stability, reliability and sustainability while strictly adhering to safety procedures and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance on plant/mine equipment and systems
• Utilise plant maintenance documentation and work management systems
• Ensure compliance with Safety Management Systems (IMS, MBO, etc.)
• Conduct hazard identification and task risk assessments
• Apply emergency procedures when required
• Participate in daily planning and safety meetings
• Provide feedback to supervisors and planning teams
• Participate in root cause analyses (RCA) and risk assessments
• Maintain housekeeping and waste disposal standards
• Share knowledge and mentor junior artisans
• Contribute to maintenance strategy and operational improvements
• Conduct plant inspections (My IMS)
• Ensure accurate maintenance history and documentation
• Participate in performance appraisals and personal development planning
• Lead team efforts where required
• Support development of work instructions and competency building

Minimum Requirements

Education

• National Senior Certificate with Mathematics, Physical Science and English
• Occupational Trade Certificate (Electronic Mechanic)
• Flameproof Certificate
• Competent A Certificate
• Gas Testing Certificate
• Valid Driver’s Licence

Experience

• Minimum 4 years relevant electro-mechanical experience
