Overview

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) invites suitably qualified South African citizens to apply for the position of Administrative Officer / Support Staff. This role is vital to ensuring the smooth processing and administration of social grants, with a strong focus on quality assurance and policy compliance across the grants value chain.


Key Responsibilities

-Conduct quality assurance on social grant applications and verify supporting documentation.

-Evaluate means tests and declarations for accuracy and completeness.

-Approve or reject applications for various social grant types in line with policy.

-Provide administrative support across grant processes, including Beneficiary Maintenance, Medical Assessments, Customer Care, and off-site services.

-Supervise and manage administrative staff, resources, and performance within the grants value chain.

-Advise on and implement improvements in policy and administrative processes related to social grant delivery.


Requirements and Skills

-Grade 12 / Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification.

-Sound knowledge of social security systems and administrative functions.

-Strong attention to detail and policy compliance.

-Ability to work under pressure and manage performance.

-Good communication and interpersonal skills.

-Previous supervisory or administrative experience in a social services environment will be advantageous.
