Overview

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is recruiting a Store Motorbike Driver for its Brickhill Estcourt store in KwaZulu-Natal.

The successful candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently delivering customer orders while ensuring that products arrive at the correct destination on time and in good condition. This position requires a Grade 12 qualification and a valid Code A1 motorcycle driver’s licence.

Key Responsibilities

– Deliver customer orders safely, professionally and within the required delivery times.

– Verify that the correct products are delivered to the correct customers.

– Follow delivery and collection instructions provided by management.

– Plan efficient delivery routes to minimise travelling time.

– Prioritise refrigerated products and transport them using appropriate cooler boxes and cold packs.

– Handle fragile and hazardous products with appropriate care.

– Return promptly to the store after completing deliveries to support further dispatches.

– Ensure products are securely packed to prevent damage during transportation.

– Obtain the required customer signatures and proof of delivery.

– Check customer names, addresses, invoices and delivery documentation for accuracy.

– Complete and maintain delivery log sheets.

– Handle store returns, collections and inter-branch deliveries correctly.

– Process applicable EFT and cash payments accurately.

  • Maintain an accurate vehicle logbook.
  • Inspect the motorbike or delivery vehicle before, during and after trips.
  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, incidents or equipment problems to management.
  • Keep the delivery vehicle clean and in good condition.
  • Follow company vehicle policies and applicable road traffic regulations.
  • Provide courteous and professional service when interacting with customers.
  • Report customer complaints, requests and compliments to management.
  • Assist with dispatch-related functions when required.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Grade 12 / Matric.
  • A valid Code A1 driver’s licence.
  • Willingness and ability to work retail hours and/or shifts.
  • Ability to work outdoors in different weather conditions.
  • Physical fitness to lift and move boxes safely.
  • Reliable transport and/or residence within reasonable travelling distance of the store.
  • Clear criminal and credit records.
  • South African citizenship.

Previous experience in a similar delivery or motorbike driver position will be advantageous.
