Overview:

Universal Paper is seeking a professional and experienced Code 14 Driver to join our Customer Services and Distribution team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting both raw and finished goods across various locations, ensuring deliveries are safe, efficient, and punctual. The role also includes internal vehicle movements and forklift operation.

Key Responsibilities:

On-Time Delivery:

-Transport raw materials and finished goods between manufacturing plants, customer sites, retail outlets, and distribution centers

-Operate multiple vehicles for internal shunting

-Plan routes using GPS and meet delivery schedules

-Load and unload goods at specified locations

-Collect and verify delivery documentation

-Use on-site radio systems for coordinated movement

Road Safety Compliance:

-Follow all road traffic laws and regulations

-Log driving hours, distances, and fuel/toll expenses

-Ensure compliance with truck operation policies, including load capacity, break times, and route restrictions

-Maintain valid Code 14 license (PDP) and report expiry dates in advance

Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Usage:

-Operate forklifts for truck loading/unloading

-Maintain valid forklift license

-Use pallet jacks to prepare goods for delivery

Vehicle Fitness and Safety:

-Conduct daily inspections and document vehicle condition

-Report maintenance needs to supervisors

-Participate in routine and non-routine safety audits

-Identify safety hazards and implement corrective actions

-Maintain cleanliness and presentation of vehicles

Minimum Requirements:

-Grade 12 certificate

-Minimum 5 yearsโ€™ experience as a heavy-duty driver

-Valid Code 14 (EC) driverโ€™s license with a valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP)

-Valid forklift license

-Excellent communication and customer service skills

-Physically fit with good eyesight and hearing

-Strong judgement and decision-making abilities
