About the Position

The successful candidate will provide administrative and management-information support to the National Intervention Unit Operations and Support section.

The role includes maintaining information systems and databases, preparing presentations, carrying out monitoring and evaluation activities, handling general administration and supporting matters related to performance indicators and the Auditor-General.

This is a supervisory-level administrative position and is not an entry-level vacancy.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be competent in the core functions of the post.
  • Be proficient in English and at least one other official language.
  • Be a South African citizen.
  • Provide documentary proof of citizenship at the interview stage.
  • Have Grade 12 / Senior Certificate / NCV Level 4 or an equivalent qualification at NQF Level 4, recognised by SAQA.
  • Have at least 4 yearsโ€™ experience in the field of the post.

Qualifications That Will Be an Added Advantage

The following are not listed as essential minimum requirements, but will serve as an advantage:

  • An applicable 3-year Diploma or Degree at NQF Level 6 or higher, recognised by SAQA.
  • Relevant training courses in the field of the post.
  • A valid driver’s licence for at least a light motor vehicle.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to:

Provide Management Information Support

  • Render an effective and efficient management information service to the Section Head.
  • Provide relevant information support to the section.

Prepare Presentations

  • Prepare presentations for internal use when requested by the Section Head.

Maintain Databases

  • Maintain a database containing specific information as required by the Section Head.

Provide General Administrative Support

  • Render basic administrative duties for the NIU Operations and Support Section.

Manage the IRIS System

  • Manage the relevant IRIS system for NIU Units.

Conduct Monitoring and Evaluation

  • Conduct monitoring and evaluation activities at various units within the section.

Attend to Auditor-General Matters

  • Attend to Auditor-General related matters concerning national performance indicators.
