Overview

The City of Ekurhuleni is inviting applications for temporary Indigent Fieldworker positions within the Community Services Department.

This opportunity is suitable for community-focused individuals who are passionate about assisting residents through indigent support programmes and municipal verification services. Successful candidates will support household verification processes and assist with community outreach activities within their allocated wards.


Key Responsibilities

– Conduct manual and electronic verification of indigent applications.

– Visit households within allocated wards to verify indigent applications.

– Interview potential applicants and collect relevant information.

– Check municipal account status using the Solar and Indigent Management System.

– Report water leaks and electrical faults through the relevant municipal channels.

– Participate in indigent awareness campaigns within communities.

– Identify and report social challenges affecting households for further intervention.

– Submit reports and feedback to the assigned sub-regional team leader.

– Capture, sort, compile, and verify collected data accurately before submission.


Requirements & Skills

-Grade 11 qualification.

-Ability to read and write.

-Good communication and interpersonal skills.

-Basic data capturing and administrative abilities.

-Willingness to undergo training on indigent verification and application processes.

-Must be a resident of the Ekurhuleni community or ward where services will be provided.

-Proof of residence must be attached to the application.

-Ability to work independently and interact professionally with community members.
