Job Purpose

The primary purpose of the position is track protection and safeguarding employees and trains.

Requirements

Candidates should:

• Be able to communicate verbally and in writing in English.
• Have a minimum of Grade 9.
• Have at least 3 months’ relevant experience.
• Have a valid Flagman Certificate.
• Be willing to develop and improve their knowledge and qualifications.
• Be medically fit and pass the required medical examination.
• Be able to complete daily reports.
• Work effectively as part of a team.
• Be able to work at heights and in confined spaces.
• Be prepared to work extended hours during emergency work.

Key Responsibilities

Successful candidates will:

• Assist with basic maintenance and testing of flagman equipment.
• Learn how to use relevant equipment.
• Maintain health and safety standards.
• Report deviations and misconduct to the Supervisor.
• Work towards objectives and targets set by the Supervisor.
