Overview:

A leading grocery retailer is seeking dedicated and experienced Code 14 Drivers to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. This role is crucial in ensuring the timely and safe delivery of goods to customers. The ideal candidate will be reliable, punctual, and a strong team player.

Responsibilities:

-Conduct daily inspections and safety checks of the vehicle.

-Ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods to designated locations.

-Communicate any vehicle issues to supervisors promptly.

-Safely load, unload, and secure items for transport.

-Verify delivery instructions and ensure proper documentation.

-Obtain proof of delivery or secure signed confirmations upon delivery.

  • Adhere to all traffic laws and company driving regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records, including invoices, fuel slips, and work hours.
  • Ensure vehicle safety standards are met, including correct tyre pressure based on load.
  • Keep the driverโ€™s license up to date and the vehicleโ€™s license disk valid and visible.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and safe handling of the vehicle.
  • Report any incidents, accidents, or traffic violations immediately.
  • Verify the quantity of goods loaded and delivered.

Requirements:

  • Valid Code 14 driverโ€™s license.
  • Proven experience as a Code 14 Driver.
  • Strong understanding of traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and deliver goods promptly.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
  • High level of reliability and punctuality.

Preferences:

  • Prior experience in a similar role within the retail or logistics industry.
  • Familiarity with delivery routes in the Gqeberha area.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety protocols.
