Overview

The City of Ekurhuleni is inviting applications for temporary General Worker opportunities under the Rodent Control Programme within the Community Services Department.

This programme aims to improve public health and environmental awareness through community education, inspections, and rodent control campaigns across various wards within the municipality.


Key Responsibilities

– Conduct door-to-door awareness campaigns and surveys within allocated wards.

– Educate community members about rodent control and environmental health matters.

– Distribute educational pamphlets to residents.

– Mobilise communities for environmental health campaigns and meetings.

– Inspect premises and identify rodent-infested areas.

– Follow up on reported infestations and provide feedback reports.

– Work closely with Environmental Health Practitioners.

– Participate in rodent control awareness campaigns and community outreach programmes.

– Reach daily inspection targets of at least 30 premises per day.

– Complete attendance registers and data collection forms accurately.

– Record the number of premises visited and pamphlets distributed.

– Assist with educational talks, meetings, and campaign activities.


Requirements & Skills

-Grade 10 qualification or equivalent.

-Good communication and interpersonal skills.

-Ability to work with communities and conduct awareness campaigns.

-Willingness to work outdoors and travel within allocated wards.

-Good organisational and reporting skills.

-Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.

-Reliable, responsible, and community-orientated.


Remuneration & Benefits
