Overview

Kumba Iron Ore, part of Anglo American, is seeking a Warehouse Assistant on a six-month fixed-term contract. The purpose of this role is to execute tasks associated with receiving, storing, issuing, and moving goods within operations while maintaining safety, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

-Adhere to health, safety, and environmental standards at all times

-Participate in SLAMs, HPHs, and risk assessments

-Execute inventory movement including receiving, binning, picking, issuing and deliveries

-Assist with GRV system queries

-Apply FIFO principles for stock rotation

-Perform cycle counts, bin verification and labelling

-Organise warehouse floor space according to storage standards

-Maintain housekeeping using 5S principles

-Report stock discrepancies or damages to the supervisor

-Compile stock variance reports

-Oversee delivery of materials to plant areas

-Support OTIF (On Time In Full) processes

-Assist with complex warehouse tasks when required

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Valid South African Driver’s Licence
• 1–2 years relevant warehouse experience
• Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SAP)

Advantage:

• Certificate in Supply Chain or Logistics (NQF Level 4)

• Knowledge of warehouse and inventory control processes
• Systematic problem-solving approach
• Understanding of warehouse standards and best practices
• Ability to identify operational risks and improvement opportunities
