Overview
MSC is inviting unemployed South African youth to apply for its exciting 3-Phase Maritime Learnership Programme in Port Elizabeth.
This programme offers young people the opportunity to gain both theoretical and practical work experience within the shipping, freight forwarding, and logistics industry while earning nationally recognised qualifications.
The learnership is fully funded by MSC and includes a monthly stipend, annual bonus opportunities, and hands-on industry exposure.
๐ Learnership Phases
The programme consists of the following qualifications:
Phase 1
National Certificate in International Trade
Phase 2
National Certificate in Freight Forwarding & Customs Compliance
Phase 3
Further Education & Training Certificate in Shipping
๐ Each phase runs for 12 months and must be completed consecutively at the same location.
๐ฐ Stipend & Benefits
- Monthly stipend starting from R4,000 per month
- Annual stipend increases may apply
- MSC fully subsidises tuition and study costs
- Annual bonus opportunity
Bonus Opportunity
Learners may receive an annual R5,000 bonus after successful completion of Phase 1 if they achieve:
- 80% pass mark in theory and practicals
- Good attendance
- Positive conduct and performance
Minimum Requirements
- Completed Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent qualification
- Minimum:
- 60% for Mathematical Literacy
- OR 50% for Mathematics
- Computer literate:
- Microsoft Word
- Excel
- Outlook
- PowerPoint
- Must be under the age of 25
- Must be unemployed
- Must be able to travel to and from MSC sites at own cost using stipend provided
- Previous work experience is required
