Overview
Protea Hotels by Marriott is looking for a friendly and energetic Porter (Guest Arrival Expert) to join the team at Protea Hotel Knysna Quays. This role focuses on creating a memorable first and last impression for guests by delivering excellent service throughout their arrival and departure experience.
Key Responsibilities
– Welcome guests warmly on arrival and assist with departures
– Help guests with luggage handling and movement within the hotel
– Provide information about hotel services and local attractions
– Assist with guest requests and ensure a smooth arrival experience
– Support front office operations and general guest services
– Maintain professionalism and a neat personal appearance at all times
– Follow all health, safety, and company procedures
– Ensure guest satisfaction by delivering a high standard of service
– Assist with general operational duties as required
Requirements & Skills
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent
- No prior experience required (entry-level opportunity)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Friendly and professional attitude
- Physically fit and able to lift and carry luggage
- Ability to work shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Good teamwork and problem-solving skills
