Overview
Protea Hotels by Marriott is seeking dedicated and detail-oriented Room Attendants / Cleaners to join the team at Protea Hotel Lodge. This role focuses on maintaining high standards of cleanliness and creating a comfortable, welcoming environment for guests.
Key Responsibilities
– Clean and prepare guest rooms, bathrooms, and public areas to company standards
– Replace linen, towels, and guest amenities as required
– Dust, polish, and sanitise surfaces, furniture, and fixtures
– Remove waste, used linen, and room service items from rooms
– Ensure all appliances and room items are in working condition
– Maintain cleanliness in storage areas, linen rooms, and housekeeping spaces
– Restock housekeeping carts with necessary supplies
– Respond promptly to guest requests and housekeeping queries
– Follow all health, safety, and hygiene procedures
– Report maintenance issues, damages, or missing items to management
Requirements & Skills
- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 1 year experience in housekeeping or cleaning (preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks for extended periods
- Reliable, honest, and professional
