Job Opportunity

Dis-Chem Pharmacies Baby City is looking for a friendly and energetic Sales Assistant for the Table Bay Mall store in Cape Town.

The successful candidate will assist customers through excellent customer service while helping maintain stock levels, merchandising standards, and point of sale operations.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Up to 6 months retail experience
• Minimum 1 year work experience within retail

Advantageous

• Certification in Retail Business Management

Main Duties

• Report low stock levels, damaged stock, expired stock, and out-of-stock items to management
• Assist with stock counts and general stocktaking
• Assist with loading and off-loading of stock when required
• Identify and report damaged or expired stock immediately
• Flatten boxes after unpacking stock and move them to the designated area
• Ensure products are neatly packed and fully stocked on shelves
• Monitor sell-by dates and remove expired products
• Restock merchandise to maximise sales opportunities
• Ensure displays, labels, and pricing are correct at all times
• Report price discrepancies to management
• Keep updated with new product knowledge to assist customers effectively
• Handle merchandise carefully to prevent losses
• Build promotional displays on time
• Ensure monthly promotions are implemented correctly
• Put up promotional posters and signage within the required timeframe
• Remove promotional material immediately after promotions end
• Follow accurate cash handling procedures
• Process payments including cash, cards, vouchers, and coupons
• Ensure all outgoing stock/items are scanned and paid for
• Process loyalty cards and partner rewards programmes
• Provide friendly, helpful, and professional customer service
• Report customer compliments and complaints to management
• Resolve customer stock queries effectively
