About the SASSA Grants Administrator Position

The Grants Administrator will provide services to social grant applicants and beneficiaries, including assisting customers, processing grant applications, maintaining beneficiary information and supporting the administration of grants.

The position requires good customer service and administrative abilities because the successful candidate will work with grant applications and members of the public.

Minimum Requirements

Candidates must have a Senior Certificate plus an undergraduate qualification at NQF Level 6, recognised by SAQA, in one of the following disciplines:

Public Administration / Public Management / Business Administration / Economics / Development Studies / Finance / Accounting / Commerce / Social Sciences / Social Security / Law / IT / Computer Literacy

A valid driver’s licence is an added advantage.

The advertisement does not specify a compulsory number of years of previous work experience for this Grants Administrator position.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Provide customer care services to grant applicants and beneficiaries.
  • Screen and capture grant applications.
  • Perform beneficiary maintenance functions effectively.
  • Administer medical bookings and assessments.
  • Provide off-site grant application services to clients.
  • Scan and batch grant files.
