Overview
The City of Ekurhuleni is inviting applications for Security Guard positions within the Community Safety Department.
This opportunity is ideal for disciplined and security-conscious individuals who are passionate about protecting municipal premises, personnel, and assets while ensuring a safe and secure environment for employees and the public.
Key Responsibilities
– Provide security services to protect municipal buildings, assets, and personnel.
– Perform access control duties and monitor entry and exit points.
– Maintain a visible security presence to promote safety and prevent incidents.
– Assist during emergencies and help maintain order and control.
– Monitor and operate CCTV cameras and other security equipment.
– Report suspicious activities, security risks, and incidents immediately.
– Complete security administration and incident reports accurately.
– Enforce security procedures and operational safety standards.
– Work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
Requirements & Skills
-Grade 10 qualification.
-Basic Security Course qualification (PSIRA).
-Registered Security Officer with PSIRA.
-Minimum of 1 year security experience in a similar environment.
-No criminal record or illicit activities recorded.
-Good communication and observation skills.
-Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
-Willingness to work shifts as part of operational requirements.
-Basic knowledge of CCTV operations and security procedures will be advantageous.
