Job Purpose

The successful candidate will provide a safe and efficient driving service for Transnet CEW staff.

Qualifications & Experience

Applicants should have:

• Valid Code 10/14 driver’s licence and PDP certification.
• Driver assessment conducted by Fleet Management must be passed before appointment consideration.
• Minimum Grade 10.

Skills & Knowledge

Applicants should have:

• Basic knowledge of vehicle care.
• Knowledge of road rules and regulations.
• Map-reading ability.
• Good written and verbal communication.
• Ability to plan trips.
• Good driving and organisational skills.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

• Provide safe, efficient and economical transport to Electrical Engineering Works staff.
• Maintain vehicles in a clean and roadworthy condition.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections for defects and damage.
• Complete and submit log sheets.
• Monitor fuel consumption and submit fuel slips.
• Comply with traffic rules.
• Perform regular travel as required.

• Flexible working hours.
• Regular time away from the home depot.
