Senwes Equipment is inviting motivated young people with an interest in mechanics, machinery and agriculture to apply for its 3-year Technician Apprenticeship Programme in the Free State.

The programme combines practical workplace experience with structured technical training, helping apprentices develop towards becoming qualified technicians within the agricultural, construction and forestry industries.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) completed OR currently in progress
  • Mathematics, Technical Mathematics, N2 Mathematics or Engineering Mathematics
  • Mathematical Literacy will NOT be considered
  • Valid driver’s licence or currently working towards obtaining one
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Good communication skills
  • Genuine interest in mechanics, machinery and the agricultural industry

What You’ll Learn & Do

Successful apprentices will receive practical exposure to:

  • Servicing, maintaining and repairing agricultural machinery.
  • Inspections and preventative maintenance.
  • Diagnostics, fault finding and troubleshooting.
  • Mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • Workshop operations alongside qualified technicians.
  • Stock and parts control.
  • Workshop administration and housekeeping.
  • Customer service and technical support.
  • Product-specific technical training.

Apprentices may also attend practical and theoretical training, complete distance-learning modules and participate in supplier/manufacturer training and trade-related assessments.
