About the Role
The Warehouse Assistant supports the efficient movement of parcels through the warehouse.
The role requires someone who can work accurately and quickly in a high-volume environment. You will help ensure that parcels are correctly scanned, sorted and prepared for dispatch so that deliveries reach customers on time.
Minimum Requirements

Key Responsibilities
Parcel Scanning & Processing
The Warehouse Assistant will:
- Scan, sort and process parcels accurately.
- Ensure parcels contain the correct destination details.
- Complete tracking stickers accurately.
- Operate equipment such as SWAD machines where required.
- Capture parcel information correctly.
- Record parcel weights and dimensions where automated processing cannot be used.
- Verify incoming freight against manifests.
- Prepare outgoing freight for linehaul dispatch.
Sorting & Distribution
Responsibilities include:
- Sorting parcels according to the correct destinations, routes and areas.
- Redirecting re-routed parcels to the correct locations.
- Ensuring freight from conveyor systems and warehouse floors is correctly allocated.
- Conducting floor checks.
- Identifying and reporting discrepancies.
Warehouse Cleanliness
Maintaining a clean and organised working environment is an important part of this position.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Keep the inside and outside warehouse areas clean.

- Follow housekeeping requirements.
- Report operational issues, incidents or concerns to the designated supervisor.
