Overview
Marriott International is seeking friendly and professional Hostess / Cashiers to join the team at Johannesburg Marriott Hotel Melrose Arch. This role focuses on creating a welcoming dining experience, managing guest seating, and supporting front-of-house operations in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities
– Greet guests warmly and manage seating arrangements
– Escort guests to tables and provide menus
– Ensure tables are clean, properly set, and ready for guests
– Monitor dining areas to manage seating availability and guest flow
– Maintain cleanliness and organisation of front-of-house areas
– Assist guests with inquiries and provide excellent customer service
– Handle calls and communicate professionally with guests and team members
– Follow all health, safety, and company procedures
– Support team members to ensure smooth restaurant operations
Requirements & Skills
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent
- No prior experience required (entry-level opportunity)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Friendly, professional, and customer-focused attitude
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good attention to detail and organisation skills
- Physically able to stand and move for extended periods
