Overview
The Capital Hotels and Apartments is recruiting for nine waiter and food service opportunities across its hotels in Gauteng, the Western Cape, and the Eastern Cape. These permanent positions are ideal for enthusiastic hospitality professionals who are passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences.
Successful candidates will provide professional food and beverage service in restaurants, banqueting venues, room service, and function facilities while maintaining the high service standards that The Capital Hotels is known for.
Key Responsibilities
– Welcome guests in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner.
– Take food and beverage orders accurately.
– Serve meals and beverages efficiently in restaurants, banquet venues, room service, and function areas.
– Prepare and set tables according to hospitality standards.
– Ensure dining and function areas remain clean, organised, and guest-ready.
– Assist with banqueting and event setup, service, and breakdown.
– Monitor guest satisfaction and respond promptly to requests.
– Handle restaurant stock and assist with stock control where required.
– Work closely with chefs, bartenders, and fellow hospitality staff to ensure seamless service.
– Follow food safety, hygiene, and health regulations at all times.
Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is essential.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Professional appearance and presentation.
- Honest, reliable, and trustworthy.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Ability to relocate at own cost if applying outside the advertised location.
