Overview

AFRIT, a leading and innovative trailer manufacturer in Africa with over 50 years of industry experience, is seeking a reliable and skilled Heavy Vehicle Driver with a Code 14 license. This full-time, permanent position is based in Pretoria North, Gauteng. The successful candidate will play a key role in transporting manufactured goods and trailers between company facilities, distribution centers, and client locations.

Responsibilities

-Safely transport manufactured goods between company facilities, distribution centers, and client locations over long distances.

-Transport trailers to the Certificate of Fitness (COF) facility and to shows and events.

-Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, perform minor repairs as needed, and ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.

-Complete and maintain accurate delivery records, including logs, bills of lading, and inspection reports.

-Maintain a clean and safe working area at all times.

-Report any defects with the truck to the supervisor promptly.

-Plan and follow efficient routes to ensure timely delivery, adapting to road conditions, traffic, and weather.

-Adhere to all transportation regulations, including Department of Transport (DOT) regulations, and company policies related to safety and vehicle operation.

-Communicate effectively with clients and company staff, addressing any delivery issues or concerns professionally.

-Follow all safety protocols to ensure the safety of yourself, the vehicle, and the cargo during transit.

Requirements

• Matric (Grade 12) is essential.
• Valid Code 14 driver’s license is required.
• Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP) is necessary.
