1. Register on the SA Youth Platform

  • If you’re already part of SA Youth, Harambee, or Tshepo 1 Million, log in using your existing profile.
  • If not, register a new profile โ€“ it takes less than 5 minutes!

2. Search for Data Capturer Jobs

  • Once logged in, search for โ€œData Capturerโ€ or โ€œEducation Assistantโ€ roles.
  • Job listings will appear based on your location. You must live within:
    • 5 km of the school, or
    • 30 km for farm schools.

3. Check if You Qualify

To be eligible, you must:

  • Be a South African citizen, aged 18โ€“34 (not turning 35 before 31 March 2026)
  • Have a Matric certificate
  • Be unemployed, not studying, and not receiving a government grant (e.g., SRD R350)
  • Have no criminal record
  • Be computer literate (MS Office basics)
  • Preference is given to those with post-school qualifications (NQF Level 4, 6, or 7)

4. Submit Your Application

  • No walk-in or paper-based applications will be accepted
  • Upload the following documents:
    • Certified Matric certificate
    • Certified ID copy
    • Affidavit confirming no criminal record (police clearance may be requested later)

5. Get Ready for the Role

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to:

  • Attend mandatory training sessions
  • Learn about data capturing, administration, and ICT support
  • Work alongside Curriculum Assistants, e-Cadres, and other school support staff
