Overview:
Mukuru is looking for a dependable and customer-focused Branch Teller to join the team in Palapye. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for customers, handling transactions with precision and promoting Mukuruโs services with professionalism. Position Purpose:
Reporting to the Regional Branches Administrator, the Branch Teller is responsible for delivering efficient, friendly, and secure customer service while ensuring all transactions comply with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Transaction Processing
-Conduct thorough KYC (Know Your Customer) checks on every transaction.
-Authenticate foreign currency for outbound remittance.
-Handle, count, and disburse cash with 100% accuracy.
-Cancel non-compliant outbound orders.
-Monitor transactions in accordance with central bank regulations.
Customer Service
- Assist customers in completing forms and understanding services.
- Promote Mukuru products and encourage customer retention.
Compliance and Security
- Report suspicious activity to the AML Reporting Officer.
- Assist customers with Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) forms.
- Secure all cash, devices, PINs, and passwords.
- Maintain branch and workstation security daily.
- Keep visitor logs and verify identification.
- Complete all required internal compliance training.
Operations and Housekeeping
- Perform accurate daily cash-ups and float reconciliations.
- Maintain a clean and organized branch environment.
- Conduct daily security checks before opening for trade.
Requirements:
- Education: Botswana General Certificate of Secondary Education (BGCSE) โ Essential
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year in the financial services sector โ Essential
Skills and Competencies:
- Knowledge of FICA regulations, foreign currencies, and digital cash systems
- Excellent numeracy and attention to detail
