Overview
Brights Hardware is looking for a dependable and customer-focused Cashier to join the Frontline Department. This role is essential in ensuring accurate transactions, excellent customer service, and smooth daily operations at the checkout.
Key Responsibilities
– Welcome and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
– Process cash, card (EFT), and other payment methods accurately
– Ensure all items are correctly scanned and billed
– Follow daily cash handling and cash-up procedures
– Pack customer purchases neatly and efficiently
– Monitor and report any suspicious activity
– Promote and process gift cards and customer rewards
– Maintain cleanliness and organisation at the till area
– Participate in stocktaking and general store duties
– Carry out additional tasks as assigned by supervisors
Requirements & Skills
- Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year experience as a cashier or in a similar role
- Good numerical and cash-handling skills
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work under pressure and multitask
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to work flexible hours, weekends, and holidays
- Clear credit record
