Overview
Brights Hardware is looking for a reliable and experienced Code 10 Driver to join its Building Department in Bellville. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering goods safely, accurately, and on time while providing outstanding customer service and ensuring company vehicles are maintained in a roadworthy condition.
Key Responsibilities
– Deliver goods to customers safely, accurately, and on schedule.
– Provide excellent customer service during all deliveries.
– Complete daily trip sheets, including departure and arrival times and vehicle mileage.
– Conduct daily pre-trip vehicle inspections and report any defects.
– Ensure truck assistants accompany the vehicle during deliveries.
– Plan efficient delivery routes to maximise productivity.
– Verify that all goods are accompanied by the correct documentation before loading.
– Record all transfer documentation accurately in the logbook.
– Obtain signatures from receiving branches for transferred stock.
– Ensure all goods are delivered in excellent condition.
– Submit weekly evaluation reports to the supervisor.
– Report delivery delays and operational issues promptly.
– Participate in stocktakes when required.
– Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) or three completed Intercept courses equating to 120 credits.
- Candidates without Matric but with a valid licence and at least 3 years’ driving experience will also be considered.
- Valid Code 10 Driver’s Licence (higher licence codes will be advantageous).
- Valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP) for goods and passengers.
- Minimum of 3 years’ driving experience.
- Good understanding of loading and securing goods.
- Ability to work under pressure.
