The Department of Employment and Labour is recruiting 103 Security Officers on a one-year contract across Labour Centres in the North West Province.

These positions require a Grade 12 / Senior Certificate, a valid PSIRA Grade C Security Certificate, and at least 12 months of security experience.

Successful candidates will help control access, protect staff and clients, conduct patrols, secure information and assets, and enforce security rules at Labour Centres and the Provincial Office.

Minimum Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Control Access

Security Officers will control access into and out of:

  • Labour Centres
  • Provincial Office buildings

This includes ensuring only authorised persons enter restricted or controlled areas.

2. Protect Information and Assets

Successful candidates will help secure:

  • Departmental information
  • Equipment
  • Assets
  • Property

The role requires vigilance and responsible handling of security matters.

3. Conduct Security Patrols

Security Officers will patrol:

  • Buildings
  • Offices
  • Internal areas
  • Relevant premises

The purpose is to ensure the safety of employees, clients and departmental property.

4. Support Employee and Client Safety

Security Officers must help maintain a safe environment for:

  • Departmental employees
  • Clients
  • Visitors

This includes responding appropriately to suspicious activity or security concerns.

5. Conduct Internal Investigations

Salary
