1. Tradesman Aid Workshop

Overview
The Department of Public Works and Infrastructure is seeking a Tradesman Aid Workshop to support artisans with maintenance and repair activities on government buildings and facilities. Key Responsibilities

-Assist artisans with maintenance and repair work.
-Carry, load and unload tools, equipment and construction materials.

The department is looking for a qualified Artisan Plumber to perform plumbing maintenance, repairs and installation work on government facilities. The successful candidate will also assist with project planning and ensure that plumbing work complies with occupational health and safety standards.

7. State Accountant: Financial Accounting

The Department is looking for a State Accountant: Financial Accounting to manage financial accounting processes, expenditure control, reconciliations and financial reporting while ensuring compliance with government financial legislation and accounting standards.

The successful candidate will:
- Process and authorise payments using BAS, LOGIS and SAGE.
- Administer suspense accounts and financial registers.
- Prepare and process journals.
- Monitor payment turnaround times and ensure suppliers are paid within prescribed timeframes.
- Perform monthly financial reconciliations.
- Respond to audit queries and financial enquiries.
- Support the preparation of interim and annual financial statements.
- Monitor expenditure against budgets.
- Supervise financial administration staff.
- Ensure compliance with financial controls, Treasury Regulations and GRAP standards.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- A three-year tertiary qualification (NQF Level 6) or National Diploma in Financial Management, Accounting, Cost Accounting or a related qualification.
- Relevant experience in a Financial Accounting environment.
- A valid Code B (or higher) driver’s licence.
- Knowledge of BAS, LOGIS and government financial systems.
- Knowledge of the PFMA, Treasury Regulations, GRAP and Supply Chain Management.
- Strong communication, analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to supervise staff and work independently under pressure.
