Overview

BUCO, Citiwood and HHL are recruiting Drivers across 8 listed vacancies in several locations in South Africa.

The main purpose of these positions is to provide a safe, prompt and efficient delivery service to customers while ensuring that goods reach their destinations in the correct quantities and without shortages, damages or breakages.

Applicants will generally require Grade 12, an appropriate driver’s licence and relevant driving experience. Licence requirements may differ according to the vehicle weight category.

Key Responsibilities

Successful candidates may be responsible for:

– Delivering goods safely and efficiently to customers.

– Ensuring the vehicle is correctly and neatly packed before deliveries.

– Supervising and assisting with the loading of goods.

– Ensuring customers receive the correct quantities and products.

– Taking appropriate precautions to prevent damages, shortages and breakages.

– Conducting daily vehicle inspection checks.

– Reporting vehicle defects and maintenance requirements.

– Maintaining the assigned vehicle in a clean and roadworthy condition.

– Ensuring delivery notes are correctly completed and authorised.

– Collecting COD payments where required.

– Safeguarding goods and company property during transportation.

– Helping reduce unnecessary vehicle and delivery costs.

– Providing professional customer service during deliveries and collections.

– Following company procedures, safety requirements, values and workplace standards.

Requirements and Skills

Requirements will vary depending on the vehicle category and individual vacancy. Based on the provided 3501–9000 kg Driver vacancy, applicants should have:

• Grade 12.
• Appropriate driver’s licence for the vehicle category.
• Code 10 licence for relevant heavy vehicle duties.
• Approximately 2 years of relevant driving experience.
• Ability to conduct basic daily vehicle inspections.
• Ability to identify and report vehicle defects.
• Good customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to handle delivery documentation accurately.
• Ability to work responsibly with goods and customer payments.
• Good understanding of safe loading and delivery practices.
• Responsible and safety-conscious driving habits.
