Overview
Midvaal Local Municipality is recruiting 30 EPWP General Workers as part of its Expanded Public Works Programme aimed at reducing unemployment and alleviating poverty through temporary work opportunities.
This opportunity is suitable for unemployed individuals who are physically fit and interested in labour-intensive municipal work.
Successful candidates will assist with road maintenance, storm water duties, loading/off-loading materials, and general labour duties within municipal departments.
Minimum Requirements
-Grade 10 qualification
-Must be bilingual or at least understand English
-Must reside within Midvaal Local Municipality jurisdiction
-Must be unemployed OR serving the last 3 months of a contract
-0โ1 year general worker/labourer experience advantageous
-Ability to perform physically demanding work in varying weather conditions

- Preference will be given to youth aged 18โ35

Key Responsibilities
General Labour Duties
-Load and off-load materials, tools, and equipment
-Clean working areas using manual labour tools
-Place traffic warning signs near work areas
-Operate manual and electrical tools
Municipal Support Duties
- Assist with roads, storm water, sewer, and water-related work
- Follow instructions from supervisors
- Perform additional ad hoc duties when required
