Overview

The Youth Employment Service (YES) initiative, led by the Presidency in partnership with the private sector, aims to tackle youth unemployment in South Africa. Eskom is offering unemployed youth an opportunity to gain meaningful workplace experience within its Distribution Operations in the GEMMA Cluster (North West).

Successful candidates will be placed on a 12-month fixed-term contract within Eskom’s Customer Service and Retail Operations environment.

Minimum Requirements

• South African citizen
• Aged between 18–34 years
• Grade 12 with:
  • Mathematics (50%) or
  • Mathematical Literacy (70%)
• English (60%) and at least one other South African official language

Selection Criteria

• Must not have been permanently employed by a single employer for more than 12 consecutive months
• Must not be studying full-time during the year of employment
• Must not have participated in or registered on the YES programme before
• Must be willing to be placed within Eskom Operations (North West GEMMA Cluster)
