Overview
Plennegy Research is seeking a dedicated and hardworking General Worker to support agricultural and seed production operations. This role involves hands-on work in seed cultivation, greenhouse management, and general farm activities.
Key Responsibilities
– Assist with seed counting, packaging, and processing.
– Prepare and fill seedling trays and planting pots with growing mix.
– Sow seeds according to schedules and move trays between germination areas and greenhouses.
– Transplant seedlings and prepare planting areas in the field.
– Install and maintain irrigation systems such as drippers.
– Support plant care activities including trellising and crop maintenance.
– Assist with pollination and harvesting of crops as guided by supervisors.
– Extract, wash, and dry seeds after harvesting.
– Clean greenhouses, equipment, and work areas regularly.
– Load and offload plant materials, pots, and equipment.
– Ensure all tasks are completed according to safety standards and procedures.
Requirements & Skills
-Matric (Grade 12) โ preferred.
-Experience in agriculture or farming environment is advantageous.
-Basic knowledge of seed cultivation and plant care.
-Ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
-Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
-Understanding of safety procedures and workplace hygiene.
-Team player with a strong work ethic.
