Overview

Starke Ayres is seeking a reliable and hardworking General Worker to support daily operations at their Garden Centre. The role involves assisting with plant care, maintenance, cleaning, and stock handling to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for customers and staff.

Key Responsibilities

– Water plants and assist with general nursery care.
– Repack, restock, and move stock as required.
– Maintain cleanliness across the garden centre, including sales floor, parking area, and surroundings.
– Clean gutters and drainage channels.
– Sweep and maintain designated areas of the premises.
– Assist with loading and offloading stock, pricing, and moving items to the sales floor.
– Perform basic maintenance tasks such as painting, minor repairs, and upkeep of fixtures.
– Assist in setting up and maintaining display areas and garden features.
– Maintain tools and equipment in a clean and organised manner.
– Support seasonal preparation of nursery areas, including irrigation and plant beds.
– Report any hazards or maintenance issues to management.

Requirements & Skills

-Matric (Grade 12).
-Basic experience in maintenance or general work.
-Ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
-Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
-Good teamwork and communication skills.
