Transnet Electrical Engineering Works is recruiting 4 General Workers on a fixed-term contract under the TRIM RNC programme. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with a minimum Grade 9 and general construction experience to join the railway maintenance team.

Overview

The successful candidates will assist construction teams with railway electrical maintenance and construction work while performing general labour duties to ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

-Assist supervisors and construction teams with daily maintenance work.

-Load, unload and transport materials.

-Clean work sites by removing rubble, weeds and waste materials.

-Stack construction materials and maintain clean work areas.

-Sweep work areas and dispose of excess material.

-Carry and use hand tools safely.

-Carry and erect 12-metre extension ladders.

-Follow all health and safety procedures.

Requirements

-Minimum Grade 9.

-At least 6 months’ relevant experience.

-Physically fit (subject to medical assessment).

-Able to communicate in English.

-Safety conscious.

-Willing to work overtime when required.

-Able to work in confined spaces and at heights.

-Willing to relocate or work outside the designated depot.

-Able to work in adverse weather conditions and noisy environments.
