Overview
The Wits Health Consortium (Pty) Ltd, a division of the University of the Witwatersrand, is seeking a responsible and reliable Driver. The main purpose of this role is to ensure the safe and efficient transportation of personnel and goods, as well as to assist with various support duties.

Key Responsibilities

-Safely transport clients, staff, and packages to and from various destinations.

-Assist with general office tasks when required.

-Test and assess new drivers for studies and the unit.

-Ensure that vehicles are parked in the correct locations and maintained in good condition.

-Conduct routine checks and keep vehicles clean, well-fueled, and ready for use.

-Keep accurate records of vehicle mileage, maintenance, and repairs.

-Report any faults, accidents, or repair needs promptly.

-Comply with traffic laws and ensure considerate driving.

-Coordinate daily transport schedules with management.

-Accurately complete vehicle usage forms in line with company policies.

-Transport patients and staff as needed, particularly for home visits.

-Perform additional ad hoc tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications & Training:

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • Valid code 10 driverโ€™s license

Minimum Experience:

  • At least 1 year of driving experience

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  • Familiarity with the Soweto area is an advantage
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure, including outside of regular hours if required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Punctual and time-conscious
