Overview

An exciting opportunity is available for a YES Learner โ€“ Human Resources in Queensburgh, KwaZulu-Natal. This position forms part of the Youth Employment Service (YES) Programme and is designed to provide unemployed youth with valuable workplace experience in Human Resources.

The successful learner will support the HR Department with administrative duties while gaining practical exposure to core HR functions, compliance processes, recruitment support and employee records management.


Minimum Requirements

-Aged between 18 and 35 years

-Unemployed at the time of appointment

-Minimum qualification: Grade 12 (Matric)

-Eligible under the YES Programme criteria

-Tertiary qualification or studies in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Business Administration or related field (advantageous)

Duties and Responsibilities

HR Administration

  • Assist with employee filing (personnel files, contracts and HR records)
  • Scan, photocopy and archive HR documentation
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of employee and company information

Recruitment and Onboarding Support

  • Assist with interview scheduling and candidate communication
  • Prepare onboarding packs and induction documentation
  • Support reference checks and document verification
  • Assist with new employee orientation sessions

Employee Records and Compliance

  • Support HR audits and compliance checks
  • Ensure documentation is stored in line with POPIA and company policies

General HR Support

  • Respond to basic HR-related queries
  • Assist with HR projects and initiatives
  • Attend workplace learning and development sessions
  • Perform reasonable HR-related duties as instructed by the HR Manager
