Overview
AVBOB Mutual Society is seeking a dedicated and reliable General Worker (Cleaner) to join the Preparation Centre in Pretoria West. The successful candidate will maintain a clean, safe and hygienic environment across office spaces and specialised facilities, including the mortuary and Aquamation Centre.

Key Responsibilities
-Perform daily cleaning of floors, furniture and surfaces using approved cleaning materials
-Maintain bathrooms by disinfecting surfaces, cleaning toilets and refilling hygiene supplies
-Empty and sanitise waste bins to ensure clean communal areas
-Prepare and serve refreshments for visitors to maintain a professional environment
-Clean mortuary floors and working areas according to strict infection-control protocols
-Maintain cold room hygiene by disinfecting and mopping as scheduled
-Clean and sanitise stretchers and related equipment using approved procedures
-Refill mortuary hygiene solutions according to safety standards
-Record cold room temperatures three times daily and report irregularities
-Clean and disinfect the Aquamation facility and equipment daily
-Dispose of cleaning chemicals and solutions in line with safety regulations
-Prepare and hand over medical waste to approved suppliers
-Monitor and replenish refreshment supplies as needed
Minimum Requirements
- ABET Level 4
- Ability to read and write
- Must be able to speak and understand English
- 1โ2 years cleaning experience
- Ability to work in a sensitive and regulated environment
- Understanding of hygiene, sanitation and safety standards
