Overview

Old Khaki is looking for enthusiastic and customer-focused Shop Assistants/Cashiers to join their team at Newcastle Mall. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy retail, are passionate about delivering excellent service, and thrive in a team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist customers and provide outstanding service
• Drive sales and meet individual targets
• Operate the till and process payments accurately (cash, cards, vouchers, etc.)
• Ensure proper handling of loyalty cards and scanned items
• Maintain store presentation and visual merchandising standards
• Prevent stock loss by following store procedures
• Handle customer queries and escalate issues when necessary
• Foster a welcoming and energetic shopping environment

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent
• Up to 6 months’ retail experience
• Strong customer service and time management skills
• Trustworthy and reliable with cash handling
• Willing and able to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays
• Clear criminal and credit record
• South African citizen

Advantageous

• 1 year of experience in a retail environment
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
• Interest in fashion and lifestyle trends
• Effective communication and team collaboration skills
