Overview
Old Khaki is looking for enthusiastic and customer-focused Shop Assistants/Cashiers to join their team at Newcastle Mall. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy retail, are passionate about delivering excellent service, and thrive in a team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist customers and provide outstanding service
- Drive sales and meet individual targets
- Operate the till and process payments accurately (cash, cards, vouchers, etc.)
- Ensure proper handling of loyalty cards and scanned items
- Maintain store presentation and visual merchandising standards
- Prevent stock loss by following store procedures
- Handle customer queries and escalate issues when necessary
- Foster a welcoming and energetic shopping environment
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent
- Up to 6 monthsโ retail experience
- Strong customer service and time management skills
- Trustworthy and reliable with cash handling
- Willing and able to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays
- Clear criminal and credit record
- South African citizen
Advantageous
- 1 year of experience in a retail environment
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- Interest in fashion and lifestyle trends
- Effective communication and team collaboration skills
