Overview

Premier is offering an exciting Millwright Apprenticeship opportunity at its Cape Town Mill for motivated young individuals interested in building a career in technical and engineering trades.

This 3-year apprenticeship programme combines accredited theoretical training with practical workplace experience under the guidance of qualified artisans. Successful candidates will gain valuable exposure to mechanical and electrical systems while developing practical technical skills within a production and milling environment.


Key Responsibilities

– Attend theoretical training at an accredited learning institution.

– Participate in practical on-the-job training under qualified artisans.

– Assist with maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical systems.

– Gain hands-on experience in technical milling operations.

– Learn to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment faults.

– Work safely within engineering and production environments.

– Apply theoretical learning to practical workplace tasks.

– Follow company safety standards and operational procedures.

– Participate in shift work, weekend work, and overtime when required.


Requirements & Skills

-N2 qualification with four relevant trade subjects including:
โ€ข Engineering Mathematics
โ€ข Engineering Science
โ€ข Mechanical
โ€ข Mechanical & Electrical Drawings

-Electrical subject will be advantageous.

-N3 qualification will be advantageous.

-Matric / Grade 12 will be advantageous.

-Previous relevant technical or engineering experience will be beneficial.

-Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.

-Good communication and teamwork abilities.

-Interest in mechanical systems and technical work.

-Good hand-eye coordination and practical abilities.

-Ability to work in a high-performance and pressurised environment.

Working Conditions

-5-day work week with overtime when required.
