Overview

A permanent opportunity is available for a Tanker Driver within a leading FMCG logistics operation in East London. This role is ideal for experienced Code 14 drivers with tanker or heavy-duty vehicle experience who are committed to safe driving, accurate deliveries, and professional customer service.

The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting and delivering products safely and efficiently while ensuring compliance with operational procedures and safety standards.


Key Responsibilities

– Prepare and inspect the vehicle before each trip.

– Operate ultra heavy-duty tanker vehicles safely and responsibly.

– Load, transport, and offload products according to operational procedures.

– Ensure deliveries are completed without product damage or losses.

– Handle delivery documentation and related administrative duties accurately.

– Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety requirements.

– Report vehicle defects, breakdowns, incidents, or emergencies immediately.

– Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping of the vehicle, PPE, and uniform.

– Follow instructions from supervisors and logistics management.

– Ensure professional customer interaction during deliveries.


Requirements & Skills

-Matric / Grade 12 certificate.

-Valid Code 14 driverโ€™s licence with PrDP.

-Minimum 24 months driving experience.

-3โ€“5 years experience in a similar heavy-duty driving role.

-Good understanding of FMCG logistics operations.

-Strong communication and customer service skills.

-Ability to work under pressure and meet delivery deadlines.

-Good numerical accuracy and attention to detail.

-Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

-Strong sense of accountability and teamwork.
