About the Role
As the Driver and Handyman, you will play an important role in supporting the daily operations of Bestmed Medical Scheme. Your responsibilities will include transporting documents, equipment and supplies safely, while also carrying out maintenance, repairs and general handyman duties across the business.
You will also assist with company events, vehicle maintenance, furniture moving and purchasing supplies, helping to ensure that the organisation operates efficiently every day.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
Deliveries and Collections
-Safely transport mail, documents, equipment and supplies.
-Collect and deliver items for internal and external stakeholders.
-Ensure deliveries are completed securely and on time.
Maintenance and Repairs
-Perform general handyman duties.
-Carry out basic building maintenance and repairs.
-Conduct routine inspections of company facilities.
-Identify maintenance issues and report major faults.
Troubleshooting
-Diagnose and resolve basic maintenance problems.
-Support operational teams with maintenance-related tasks.
Equipment and Operational Support
-Select and use appropriate tools and equipment.
-Assist with moving furniture and office equipment.
-Provide support during company events when required.
Purchasing and Administration
-Purchase maintenance materials and operational supplies.
-Complete administrative duties related to deliveries and maintenance.
-Maintain accurate records where required.
Company Vehicle Maintenance
- Keep company vehicles clean and roadworthy.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections.
- Report mechanical issues promptly.
- Ensure vehicles comply with safety requirements.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
-Grade 12 (Matric).
-A valid Code 10 Driver’s Licence.
-A valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
-At least 5 years’ driving experience.
-At least 5 years’ handyman or maintenance experience.
